History:
The 41st Fighter Squadron was establisend on 1st jan. 1995 during a reorganisation process of the CZAF.
The tactical sqn started its operation service from Caslav AFB where at time the 28th fighter-bomber regiment was located. The squadron continues in traditions of the 1st fighter Sqn of the 11th regimet, serving at Kbely airfield, at Cheb and Zatec since the 1951.
The sqn has been equipped with various MiG and Aero jet fighters and trainers.
On the 1st januari 1991 the sqn was invited as a guest of honour for the 30th NATO Tiger Meet held that year at RAF Fairford in England.
With that act the tradition of Tiger Sqn entered the CZAF, two years later the sqn was officialy declared a honorary member of the NATO Tiger Assosiation.
After it's Mig 29's ware withdrawn from service the 1st fighter sqn of the 1st fighter regiment from Ceske Budovice was delegated a role of Tiger tradition. The sqn became a part of the oldest air regiment carrying the honourable name “Zvolensky”. A core of the regiment was established from WWII veterans, especially members of former 312th Czechoslovak RAF fighter sqn with this sqadron also served the recent Honnorary Commanding Officer of the unit, General Frantisek Chabera. On December 31st, 1994 the 1st fighter sqn was reorganised to the 41th fighter sqn and was moved to Caslav AFB, togheter with Mig 23ML's and L.39 Albatrosses.
During December of 1998 all Mig.23's were whitdrawn from service and so the sqn continued in service with Mig21MF. On december 1st, 2003 the designation of the unit was changed to 211th tactical sqn.
